RMCHCS Revised Visitor’s Guidelines

Rehoboth McKinley Christian Health Care Services’ (RMCHCS) top priority is the health and safety of our patients and employees. During COVID-19, RMCHCS instituted a strict no visitor policy to protect its patients, community and staff.  RMCHCS continues to monitor the risk of COVID-19 closely and now that the number of COVID-cases has dropped significantly, we have revised our visitor policy:

The hospital main entrance is now open from 8AM-8PM, each day. The Emergency Entrance is open 24 hours, 7 days week.  The visitor policy supports (2) people per family member who have passed the Coronavirus screening. Guidelines are as follows:

  • Visitors will be required to show documentation of COVID Vaccination.
  • Visitors must be seventeen (17) years or older.
  • RMCHCS requires surgical masks at all times.
  • A support person may accompany a pregnant person into the Birthing Center and stay with her during labor, delivery, and postpartum stay. The support person will be required to be tested for COVID and allowed to come and go during the patient’s stay.
  • A support person or guardian will stay with a pediatric patient at all times until the patient is discharged from the hospital.
  • A caregiver may accompany patients lacking decision-making capacity, who have altered mental status or developmental delays (where caregiver provides safety).
  • Should you need to come to the clinic or hospital for care or an appointment, please make prior child care arrangements if needed.
  • Emergency Department will allow only (1) person to accompany patient.

Patients positive for COVID-19 or those who are under investigation for the virus may not have visitors, except under the circumstances:
  • One parent or legal guardian of minors.
  • One companion or caregiver for patients lacking decision making capacity or have altered mental status or developmental delays.
  • One visitor for patients nearing end of life.
  • One support person during the labor and delivery process. Once the support person leaves, no other visitors are allowed.

Visiting hours are 4pm – 8pm, with some exceptions, determined on a case-by-case basis.
